This year's programme of our events is below left. About half the meetings each year are given over to demonstrations from visiting turners.
Twice a year the club has 'hands-on' days held at the YMCA sports centre at Lawnswood, near Leeds. These are full-day events and tea and coffee are provided together with lunch for members who book it. Members take lathes (usually about eight or ten) and show each other tips and tricks, experiment with new ideas or techniques, and generally learn from each other. It is an opportunity for beginners to get advice, and everyone learns something on the day.
Increasingly the club is encouraging its members to enter competitions in both local and national shows and to become involved in woodturning events in the locality. Forthcoming events of interest are shown below right.
